Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

I sold a vehicle to a private buyer 2 years ago (Register in GA). I signed the title and I have a bill of sale. However, the purchaser never titled the vehicle. I have now received a letter from a tow company in FL wanted fees for the car which in in there possession. It was left on the side of the road. How do I relieve myself of any legal complications if the tow company is not willing to work with me?

This is a common problem, and you should not sell cars without followup as to title. In general, it is unlikely they will make serious efforts to collect. Send them certified a drop dead letter with a copy of the bill of sale and title transfer attached, and tell them simply: "This is not my car so please do not contact me again. The buyer and owner is (give name and address.)"

Add nothing else.
