Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

Son stole credit card

Sadly, my son stole his grandmother's credit card and made about $1000 in purchases. She discovered the unknown charges on her statement. She reported this to CC company and filled out affidavit. It was sent to their Fraud Department. Now several weeks later, we know for certain that he did this. I will pay these charges (he will pay me back). What do we tell the CC company? ''I realized that someone unauthorized made these charges, but I do not wish to press charges?'' '' I know who made these charges'' and stop there, plain and simple. Is there an easy way to ''drop'' this from their Fraud Investigation department?
