Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

Theft of services

I worked for a company for one day and I was to receive $90.00 for that day. I have not been paid. I keep getting the old ''check's in the mail'' I have called this company repeatedly and they are now claiming harrassment. Is it harrasment to call a person that owes me money?? Can I file a theft of services charge against them?

Re: Theft of services

Theft charges will likely go nowhere and will not get you your money. It could also subject you to problems for filing false criminal charges. Merely not paying a debt is not a crime. If it is worth the time, tell them you are going to small claims court.

Re: Theft of services

It's not theft. You can, if you wish, sue for your $90 in Magistrates (Small Claims) Court.
