Legal Question in Immigration Law in Georgia

I'm an eighteen year old undocumented immigrant that's been in the United States for about sixteen years. I turned eighteen a couple of weeks ago and it's to my understanding that I have a six month grace-like period before I must voluntary leave the country.

I've never had issues with the law and obtained nothing but straight A's in school, as well as other achievements that received merit. Despite my remarkable accomplishments, I've always felt vacant and somber; mainly because I feel as though my teenage years weren't very typical or 'fun filled' due to my inability to drive or acquire a job.

My father came here legally with a work permit but overstayed. He's been here longer than I have and has paid his taxes and everything accordingly. But pertaining to the subject, is there any way I may gain permanent residency?

There is no possible way to respond on an internet forum. You will have a tough time. You need to see an immigration lawyer IN YOUR AREA, where you can sit down with them to discuss your case and file what you need to file. Your ZIP is close to the Atlanta area and there are many competent lawyers. It is not a good idea (in fact, a bad idea as competent lawyers understand) to try to retain a lawyer in another state or location merely because they solicit on forums like this.

You should consult with an attorney that specializes and focuses on immigration to go over options that may be available to you. Sometimes people in your situation are left with no options except waiting for legislation like the Dream Act to pass but everyone's circumstances are different and unique. You should do a full consultation with an immigration attorney.
