Legal Question in Immigration Law in Georgia

i am from mexico and i would like to apply for my permenant resident in u.s, because i have two daugthers from united states. my daugthers mother and i are wanting to get married and start on seeing if we can get my papers. but there was a time she had ask for goverment assistants (cash aid), about for 4 to five months but had stop. could i still be elegible for appyling for my green card(papers). can you please help me by answering my question.

La residencia permanente se obtiene despu�s de un largo proceso y no es autom�tica.

Primero es necesario casarse, solicitar el permiso temporal de estancia en los EUA y despu�s esperar dos a�os para obtener la residencia permanente. Generalmente se deben esperar 5 a�os, pero al tener dos hijas con estadounidense la espera se reduce a dos.
