Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

Is there a legal term for someone being prohibited from completing a contract, and hence not getting paid?

I signed a contract for $1000 to finish painting a house before April 10, 2012. I started the job a month ago and was nearly finished. However, since then the owner has prohibited me from painting the house, often using the excuse that he is not home and does not want me there alone. Now the deadline is passed, and I am afraid I will not be paid at all for my work.

What is the legal term used for when somebody prohibits someone else from completing a contract so they don't have to pay them?

There is no legal term for that (since you gave us no specifics of what the contract says). Do you want to ask what you should do at this point?
