Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

I live in an apartment complex in Decatur GA , it was recently sold to a different management company. On Monday they notice all residents that the complex will be demolish and we have to move out by February 1st. I have rented another apartment today and I am moving December 10th. Rent is due tomorrow, they want me to pay the full amount, and give me half back by the day I move . I don't want to pay half because I will be living in the apartment just for ten days. Are they allowed to ask me this?

"Are they allowed to ask..." Yes, the same as you are are "allowed" to ask if you can only pay half, or ask about anything else you want to ask. Since you give us no information about a lease or other agreement to go on, I'll just ask how are they to know exactly when they will get their apartment back until you are actually out?
