Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Georgia

General Information

I recently had surgery. Before I went into the hospital I had taken 4 pregnancy tests, due to a missed period - all which came out negative. I called my doctor, they stated it was due to stress. When I went into surgery, the doctor went ahead and did the surgery after I explained the situation. Before I was even able to wake up enough to realize I was okay he had woke me up and stated 'bad news, your pregnant'. Well, I have medical confidental rights, correct? Without my consent he told my parents, boyfriend, as well as the entire waiting room inside the hospital. After that, he came into my room interrogating myself and boyfriend - asking why I had lied - which I did not - I had no clue and would have never had surgery if I would have known. He stated WE should give up the baby, as I did not need it. Also, the hopsital did an ultra-sound - then called me on Monday morning stating I had an eptopic pregnancy, which could have busted over the weekend, but discharged me instead, knowing the dangers. What can I do about this doctor giving out my confidential information, as well as dis charging me from the hospital, knowing I had a tubical pregnancy? Please e-mail me and tell me how to proceed.
