Legal Question in Personal Injury in Georgia

Borrowed car- What's my liability?

Short and simple- I let my boyfriend (he is 19) borrow my car knowing his license was not completely reinstated (and on probabtion for his last speeding ticket). He got in an accident in bad weather conditions and rear-ended a rental car (from Florida). They cited him for ''going to fast for conditions'' but told us that his license and record were clean. MY insurance is covering the accident and the car hit is also claiming injuries. We are investigating the situation with his license, but in the mean time, what should I expect from my insurance when dealing with a rental car and an accident in which I was not driving or even in the car (We have been found to be 100% at fault)? Also what are the liabilities to my boyfriend's insurance (which is under his father) and what should we expect in terms of possible lawsuits and costs???

I would suggest you contact your insurance company to see whether your policy covers a driver other than yourself.

Your insurance carrier and the boyfriend's carrier will each determine the issue of coverage. Your car should be primarily responsible for the wreck if coverage is validated by your carrier.
