Legal Question in Personal Injury in Georgia

car accident

My sister in law was the passenger in a car where a wreck occured. Her friend who was driving was at fault. Another lawyer told my mother in law that since the other girls parents had removed her from their insurance that they were not liable for any medical bills etc incurred because of the wreck. Is there any recourse for them, because they are going to be stuck with these bills, and thhis did not sound right to me.
