Legal Question in Personal Injury in Georgia

I was hit by a driver who has the same insurance as I do. I informed the insurance company that I was having problems in an area that had been previously treated (epedurial injections for cervical arthritis) but was not bothering me at the time of the accident. I turned down their settlement which was to continue to be be treated by my own health insurance as if it was not related to the accident. Also, I have been under a lot of stress with anxiety attacks about driving and not knowing what to do. Should I obtain an attorney? If so, what kind? I have never been in a situation like this before. Thank you.

You leave us to guess about what actual damages, if any (other than stress), you suffered in the accident. Was it a major crash, or a damaged fender? Given that, you can call a lawyer who handles these cases, but keep in mind that once you sign up you owe them a significant percentage of the recovery.

You need to stop talking to the insurer as if you have a case you could have already damaged it and meet with a lawyer and see if you have a case or not. Nothing in your post answers that question. Bear in mind that if you wait too long you lose all rights to make any claim at all.

It is not uncommon that pre-existing conditions worsen after a collision. You should consult an attorney before discussing any thing else with the insurer. I have been handling personal injury cases for ten years. If you would like a free phone consultation, I would be glad to answer any questions. If you decide to not call my office, it is still in your best interest to contact another personal injury attorney.
