clouded title

how to sell a house that two people are on the deed and one of the persons has be missing for about 8 years?

we tried searching ssi death index...

the realtor retained a pi who is having trouble locating him...

don't know about any of his family members whereabouts...

will a court let us sell the house??

You will probably need to file a lawsuit to clear up the title. The process is too complicated to explain here. You should consult with a local attorney where the property is located.

I assume for the posting the property is in Georgia but you are in PA. First you need to either find a GA attorney or Georgia title company. I know a few because I handle these issues in PA. You need to be able to convey clear and marketable title before you can sell the property. Your posting is not detailed enough to answer but I know that you can file certain document that basically allow you to state that since the one person is missing you can have him removed from title.
