If I have a deed that states I receive an acre of land but the measurements do not add up to an acre am I entitled to the full acre?

No. You simply blew the transaction by (1) not having your own lawyer, (2) not checking the survey, and (3) not checking the legal description. In some cases, you may, with a lawyer and depending what your sales contract and deed say, have a right, and it will be very expensive, to sue the seller, but this was inexpensively avoidable by you doing a purchase with the proper precautions.
