Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

What rights does a Power of Attorney have

My husband is in Iraq and left his father as Power of Attorney of his rental property in his absense. The current tenants are not paying the rent, which covers the house payment that I make each month. Since my husband made him power of attorney, I feel he should be making the house payment since is is a lousy landlord. My father in law signed the lease with the current tenants.

Re: What rights does a Power of Attorney have

Being a lousy landlord, signing a lease, or a POA does not make a person liable for the mortgage of someone else.
