Legal Question in Traffic Law in Georgia

I am a 24 year old white male, living in McDonough, Georgia. I was recently pulled over by a police officer for no insurance, though that has since been fixed from my insurance company after finding that they made a mistake with my VIN number, the officer had asked to to step outside of the car and handcuffed me as he then put me in the backseat of the squad car, while he searched my vehicle. A second officer shortly after arrived and opened the squad car door and solemnly asked me "I will give you two choices, either you get tazed and we will let you go home or we will take you to jail". Amazed that an officer would even say that, I told him that I believed this was not legal; he shut the door and about ten minutes later, he opened the door again and said that he was just joking. My vehicle was towed and I was eventually let out of the car and released from the handcuffs. To my knowledge, not at any time did I exhibit suspicious behavior or provide any reason why I should be handcuffed. From the point that the officer pulled my over, I had both hands on the stering wheel, responded in a polite and professional manner, as I was also in my business suit during all of this (obviously not suspicious). My rational thought of the situation results in this inquiry of, what are the legal implications of an officer proposing to a suspect the question of whether they want to be tazed or taken to jail? The officer may have been using it as a scare tactic or just a joke with the other officer; though I believe that some things cross the line and that was it. I am very curious of any feedback regarding this incident. Thank you.

Sounds like your rights were violated. You need to contact an attorney who is not afraid to file suit against the county. Officers are now required to tape and audio all stops now. This information can be used against them....if it hasn't been erased yet.
