Legal Question in Traffic Law in Georgia

leaving the scene of the accident

My husband was rear ended. he did not have insurance. he had a nuclear gauge in the back of the car which was toally destroyed and under any circumstances like this would most likely leak radiation. so he paniked and left. he went back to get the gauge out of the car and was arrested. so, he went to jail and then, he went to court, was give a fine and two years supervised probation. he has had tickets in the past, but 2 years is a very long time, given nothing for time served was in there a week we are losing everything due to him not being able to pursue his career which requires traveling. can we get this reduced
