Legal Question in Traffic Law in Georgia

Traffic law window tint.If you are pulled for dark window tint and the officer tells you to roll down your windows so he can check the tint with a device. Do you have to roll your window down and what are my rights?

Roll it down, or they will break the window and drag you out. Getting dark tinted windows is not an excuse to refuse a check for dark tinted windows. That is like the guy who killed his parents and wanted a break because he was an orphan. Officers also have the right to make sure they are safe, so they are not leaving people in the car they can't see.

You likely have two choices - roll down the window or risk that the officer will perceive your actions as a threat and break the window - and arrest you (if not shoot you depending on what they think you are doing with your hands). That is not the time to be a smartass. If you think the stop is improper, get a lawyer later and challenge it. Don't debate the guy with a gun and a ticketbook over something so small.
