Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in Hawaii

Custody Appeal

sister lost 5 children to CPS. has been an issue for 2.5years. going through appeal process for judgement ''loss of custody''. Is there any possibility for I to be given the custody by my sister and then have the children given to me by the state, therefore ending this long process of the children being sent from foster home to foster home (5 total)?

Re: Custody Appeal

Termination of Parental Rights is a serious matter and involves vital issues of constitutional law. You need to involve a competent attorney immediately to assist you. Usually the courts prefer a member of the extended family, provided that the member of the family is not a conduit for the "bad parent" to regain control of the children.

You should see an attorney specializing in this area of the law as soon as possible. Emphasize that your concern is for the children being shuffled from one home to another. I wish you the best of luck in what must be a gut-wrenching situation for you.
