Wrongful death

What is the statute of limitations for a wrongful death lawsuit in Hawaii? I live in California. Do I have to file in Hawaii with a Hawaii lawyer? Can I use a California lawyer? My mom died of a staph infection 9 days after a tripple by-pass while still in the hospital. do you think I may have a case? Where do I go next?

It is highly advisable to hire an attorney in Hawaii. However, I'd recommend that you hire an attorney here in California and let him/her associate an attorney in Hawaii. You will not pay two separate attorneys fees. The two attorneys will share the proceeds of ONE attorney.
