Moving after a Divorce

My husband and his ex wife have joint legal and physical custoday of my step son. With my husband having primary physical. There has been no physical communication between my step son and his Bio mom in over a year. And no letters or phone calls in over 9 months. The divorce decree states that all visitation take place in the state we live in. But we want to move to Alaska. Do we have to notify the court that has jursdiction over my step son that we want to move?
