Legal Question in Education Law in Illinois

In Illinois, is it legal to search a student's vehicle for any or no reason? The school's code says "yes." But does the law agree? And if not, what would suffice as reason to search the car?

Thank you for your question. The answer to your question is not absolute, as there are a number of factors involved that you did not include in your question. In short, no, absent probable cause and a warrant, a search of your vehicle could not/should not have happened. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact me: [email protected]
