If I am on social security and I win a large lottery, what happens with my winnings tax wise?

Re: winning a lottery

Hello. In my opinion the tax would be taken off the top, prior to you getting an installment payment. The same should be the case if you elect

to receive a lump sum award. The tax would be deducted from the lump sum award. Will be happy to answer any additional questions that you may have.
