what are the laws on someone signing my name to a check for 5000.00 made out to me from an ins. co, then sign there own name , and then deposit in there acct. i verbally agreed for him to open joint acct with both names, but he did not, and kept money.

Hello. Such an act is punishable as a felony.

Unless this person had a power of attorney from

you, he should not have been signing your name

to any check. I suggests you file a lawsuit.

I wonder why you would trust someone under

these circumstances!
