does my mom have to pay off a interest free loan she received from the city to replace her roof before she can sign the house over with a quick claim deed?

Re: quick claim deed

The mortgage documents your mother signed likely contained a due on sale clause. If this is the case, she could be responsible for full payment of the entire loan amount for all mortgage she has if she quit (not quick) claims the property to someone else. PLEASE have an attorney review these documents and advise her before she signs a deed.

Re: quick claim deed

Hello. Your mom can quit claim her

home, but the property will be subject

to the loan from the city. This will

show up on the title report. Legally

a quit claim deed only deeds the interest that the owner has. I hope

my comments are of assistance. Will be

happy to discuss this further and in

more detail.
