debt of deceased spouse

Am I responsible for credit card debt of my deceased spouse for cards that are in his name only?

I reside in Illinois.

You are not personally liable, but you should be careful if you jointly owned assets such as a car or a house.

You aren't personally liable, but if there is an estate, the creditor can file a claim against the estate.
