Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

I filed a case as a pro se litigant in District court. The defendant filed a motion for sanctions. The court entered a judgement for the defendant, and gave me one month to respond to their sanctions motions. I have filed an appeal for the judgement. Do i still file a response to their sanctions motion or do i not do do pending the appeal? Would i be sanctioned for filing the response? Would i be in default for not doing so?

What is the order of things happening in the case? Was the judgment entered before the defendant filed the Motion for Sanctions? Was the judgment entered after trial? When was the judgment entered? Did you file your appeal after the defendant filed his Motion for Sanctions? You can call me at 312-372-5600 to discuss.
