I have been defending people charged with crimes for the last thirty one years and many of them have involved people who were in the situation you describe. The law enforcement officers ALWAYS lie. They always use the person who "cooperates" with them until that person can be of no further use, and then they always prosecute the person. It is possible to enter into an agreement between your attorney and the state's attorney or the U.S. attorney under which you might receive some legally enforceable benefit from "cooperating", but you will never get there on your own. You definitely need to hire the very best criminal defense attorney you can afford. If you do not already have an attorney, you may callme for a free telephone consultation. |
