Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

My husband of one year has a 22 year old son who has come into my home which I have owned and lived in for 27 years. He has gone through the cabinets and stolen perscription medicine and sold it on the street for money. He has previously served time in an Illinois prison for burgulary. Also, He has brought into my home an undesireable person released from a Tennessee prison. I do not want this person or persons in my home or around my property anymore. I have been teaching at the same school for 33 years and I am ready to retire in just 2 more years. How do I go about the proper or legal way to achieve my goal.

As long as you allow him to live in your home, he has the right to let friends in. You have to deal with your husband and get him to agree that his son can no longer live in your home. If he will not do what, then you need to talk to a divorce lawyer.

You need to tell your husband that either the son leaves or both the son and your husband leave. I suppose that you could file a suit to evict the son since you own the property and your husband has no legal right to allow the son to live there. You could also threaten to call the police and have the son and his friend arrested for trespassing since you won the home.
