Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

where do you get help if lawyers in the state of wisconsin is persuing a case against you that is completly made up? In 2007 my friend was invovled with a lady who lied to the police and accused him of abuse. They was trying to charge him with 2nd degree but found no evidence so they found him not guilty and clear of all wrong doing. He made motions to file a complaint b/c he was placed in jail for no reason and he recieved threating phone calls from the lawyers. 2 years later 2009 they call him back in for a case that was closed. They have placed him in jail. They have given no reasons for reopening the case. The DA have been calling the house with threats and they put him in jail friday. I dont know what to do. How can we get help? he has not done anything wrong they are trying to charge him with 3rd degree sexual assult when he has not been in contact with this girl since the case in 2007.

First off, let me suggest to you that this is your friend's problem and not yours. You have no way of knowing other than by what he is telling you what he may or may not have done to this woman or what has happened that has made the States' Attorney reopen the case. The best that you can do is see that he gets a good lawyer. BTW a DA/SA threatening to do what he/she is legally entitled to do is not a "threat" under the law.
