How much would I have to pay an attorney to contact my police department to see if there is a warrant for my arrest?

Probably not much. OTOH, if there is a warrant, what do you intend to do? If you're not intending to flee the State, why not just go to the local Police Dept., and ask them if a warrant exists for you. Take bond money with you because if they find a warrant, y ou will be arrested on the spot. If there is no warrant, you've saved y ourself the cost of an attorney.
