Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

If a police report is changed, and i know that is has been by the notations at the bottom of the report... are the earlier versions of the police report available so I can know what they changed as they proceeded to the final version of the report?

Hello. My answer here is based upon the statements made by you in your posting. The best way to determine if the earlier version of the police report is available is through what is called "discovery". You should hire an attorney, if you don't already have one. The Office of the State's Attorney is obligated to produce all documentation in connection with the incident in question and your arrest, if you were arrested. If the State's Attorney fails to cooperate, this can be brought to the attention of the judge and then the court, at it's option, can take the necessary action to provide you with this information, if there is, in fact, an earlier version of the police report. I have additional comments and suggestions that I can make.
