How can I go about getting my record sealed or expunged? I was arrested 8+ years ago for retail theft under $10.

if this is the only arrest in your lifetime, you are eligible to have your record expunged. you have to prepare the proper petition and notice and file it in the clerk's office where you had your court case along with the proper filing fee. the form can be obtained from the office of the appellate defender.

if you hae further questions, i can be reached at 312-372-5600.
