Re: Revocation of probation

If you were on probation to an Illinois State court, in Chicago, then Illinois law would apply, not Minnesota law, and you should speak with a lawyer in Illinois about it. (I am a Minnesota criminal defense lawyer.) By the way, a "Statute of Limitations" could prevent a prosecutor from effectively filing criminal charges after the expiration of the limitations period, but once charges are filed they can remain pending forever. A statute of limitations would have no effect on a probation revocation matter. Consult with an Illinois lawyer.

If there was a violation of your probation filed for your failure to report, there is no limitation. That violation would be a pending charge against you. If no violation was filed, then the probation would terminate as a matter of law, and the case would be concluded. The only way to find out for sure would be to have counsel check the records.
