Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Illinois

employment law

I have a question I need help with right away for a paper. In Illinois, can an employer ask an employee if he burglarized a house that he worked at three weeks ago? The question also asks if the employer is under any liability for this employee if he did burglarized the customer's house?

Finally, the question ask if it is lawful for the employer to go to the police if the employer believes the employee burglarized the customer's house.

I have been on some legal web sites today and I cannot find a solid answer aabout this. The employee in the scenario has a past conviction on his record. Can someone please help me right away? The employer is in Illinois. Thank you.

William

Re: employment law

Hello. The employer should not answer any questions of this nature, without having a lawyer

present. The risk is too great. I will be happy

to explain this in more detail, if you have any

follow-up questions.
