Legal Question

Avoiding jail time

My husband;s nephew was given six months in jail for A DUI. He is thinking of leaving IL and going to IN to avoid doing his sentence. If he is caught will he be sent back to IL and will he get extra jail time. Will it also change the type of offense he has.
