Legal Question in DUI Law in Illinois

I am unemployed, I live with my father. I was driving his truck from Missouri to Illinois when I was stopped by the Illinois State Police and recieved another dui. My licence was under suspencion at the time. The state police seized the truck. My father, although gave me permission to drive his truck, he had no idea I was driving while suspended. The question is how can my father regain possession of the truck.

We are waiting on a court date pretaining to the matter.

Hello. Getting the truck back is a separate proceeding. Your father should immediately contact the office of the Illinois State Police to get information on the proceedings necessary for the return of the truck. However, law enforcement officers in Illinois can keep a vehicle for an extended period of time by claiming that the vehicle is part of a continuing investigation. This can be a real problem financially, because there is usually a per diem storage fee which can grow to a crazy amount. That being the case, your father should take steps to hire an IIlinois lawyer immediately for representation.
