Legal Question in Elder Law in Illinois

sex offender

What is the nursing home law pertaining to a sex offender that is a resident? Was told he would have to move out because they don't have a private room for him. The man stays in the bed until he is wheeled down to eat. They said they would give a 30day extention but they wanted him out this very day. They were aware that he had been on the list of sex offeneders but he never did any time.

Re: sex offender

Hello. Sex offenders must register

when ever they move into an area,

according to State law. I am of the

opinion that each nursing home has

its own policy concerning how sex

offenders are to be dealt with. Even

though this person may not have done

any prison time, a guilty plea leading

to probation is a conviction. I will

be happy to discuss this with you and

in more detail.
