Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Child support owed by State of Illinois to me

When I divorced child support was ordered in State of Illinois where I lived at the time. My ex-husband lived in NJ; in a nut shell, he paid the support to the state of Illinois, however, I did not recieve the support from the state either while living in IL or later when I moved to Colorado. My child is now 31 yrs. old, and only in the past few years did we find out that all those years we went without child support was being paid for her when we didn't know it. This left her feeling abandoned, and me overworked and stressed. IL refuses to deal with me on this matter as I have contacted them several times to no avail. I want the child support that was paid for my child by her father, but now I live in TX and do not know how to go about collecting the money Henry County IL owes me. Also, are damages and interest possible?

Re: Child support owed by State of Illinois to me

There is no statute of limitation for the collection of child support. I can assist you in the collection of the money you are owed. If he paid it, then Henry Co. will have to come up with it. I recently assisted a mother in the collection of approx. $50,000 of past due support. If you want my assistance, respond to this e-mail or call me at 956-994-1127, Thanks
