Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Custody

I have a 10 year old child who has never seen her father(his choice) lately I have seen him twice in my neighborhood he never came to see her or paid support. I have been very sick part of that was a stroke a few weeks ago and I guess I am questioning my mortality lately. I want to make my son guardian should I die. My question is how do I get full custody and remove my daughters father from any chance of taking her from the loving family she has now. I have been very upset at the thought of him walking in and taking her Please help me this is not a man to raise a 10 year old.

Re: Custody

You will need to petition the court for full custody of your child. I advise you to speak to an attorney who handles custody issues.
