Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

My daughters mother has to go to court this month because they want to take my daughter from her. I got summoned to go also, what does thismean? I want guardian ship if they'll let me, but how do I go on to do this? Will they offer guardianship to meat the court hearing? Is this why I got summoned to go?

When you got summoned you received papers that stated why you were summoned. If they are only charging the mother, you received papers because you are the father. Parents are not given guardianship... they seek custody. Ask for custody, whether temporary or permanent.
