Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I want to fire my attorney because she will not drop our court case like I have asked several times. If I fire her what will happen? I live in a different state from where court is taking place and I'm not sure if I will then have to go or not.

Have you asked her if there is a reason she does not want to dismiss your case? Could it be that she is owed fees, that she has a fee petition pending against your spouse and wants to get paid? If you want it dismissed, are you willing and able to pay any outstanding fees owed your attorney?

You do not give enough information. Is there a counterclaim or cross- petition on file? Talk with your attorney. There is obviously some misunderstanding.
