Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Getting full custody of my child

My son had lived with me for the last year. This is not the first time that his mother has given him to me, and taken him back at will. She went to his school to transfer him because she is moving again, and was going to do this without my knowledge. He is only six years old, but has made it clear that he does not want to live with his mother. What are my rights as a father?

Re: Getting full custody of my child

There are several things I need to know before I can respond. First, do you have a judgment from a court spelling out the terms of custody for your child? Second, what are those terms? Third, is the mom moving out of state? Fourth, are you looking to obtain sole custody of the child?

As a father to the child you do have your rights but before any advice can be given I need to know more.

If you wish to discuss this issue in greater detail please call my office and I will me happy to speak with you.
