Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

What can happen if I am late dropping of daughter for her weekend visit? I have full custody of my daughter and for the past 6 years have had no problems getting her on time to her visits, But now that she is in middle school her schedule changed and I need to get her from Schaumburg area to Midway Airport area by 6:30.pm, daughter gets home from school at 4:00 p.m. NCP refuses to change court order, now I need to file "Motion to Modify Visitation" which will take time to get in front of a judge, not mention find an attorney.

Your real problem is that no one who knows the area is going to believe that you can't get from Schaumburg to Midway Airport by 6:30 if you leave around 4PM. Even with rush hour traffic, the commute is doable. OTOH, your ex is probably being unreasonable just to spite you and if you go to court you may be able to get the Judge to modify the visitation order to require that your ex meet you somewhere in the middle or even be entirely responsible for picking your daughter up on Fridays at the start of visitation. Particularly since you have been doing this for the last 6 years. You can file your own petition with the court or you hire a lawyer.
