Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I have been married for 8 years and have 3 kids. Through out these 8 years, my wife has not really worked and I have been responsible for all house hold expenses. She has gone to school and makes close to the same amount as I do. In debt to the tune of thousands from credit card and my tuition, I requested she contribute her quota to run the house. She vehemently refused because it's my responsibility. What are the legal implication of me seeking a divorce? Can court mandate her to be more supportive financially?

IT depends on who has physical possession of the kids. If they are living with her, then you will be ordered t pay support to her. If they are with you, then she will be ordered to pay support to you. While the divorce is pending and the two of oyu are living together, the court may order each of you to pay certain bills.
