Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Rights of a non citizen parent

My daughter had a child by a man who is not a U.S.citizen. Now he is making threats to take the child away from her. Can he do that and if he can what can we do to stop him. No DNA has been done to prove he is the father and my daughter is 17. Her and the child reside with me. Again what legal steps do we take to stop him.

Well the father would have to prove to a court that he is the father and then obtain a court order giving him full custody---HOWEVER, if these are constant threats then you need to contact the police immediately. Maybe you need to obtain a restraining order against this individual.
