Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

help

I live in Chicago. I have a property dispute w/ a person in Massachusetts, and the property is there as well. Must I seek an attorney out there or can I hire one in Illinois? Also, I want to pursue this same person in civil court for infliction of emotional pain and (perhaps) pursue legal action for abuse...she was my counselor on an in-patient psych ward many years ago, we had a sick relp. for 8 years, I've only recently recognized the abusive nature of the relp. Do I have to find a lawyer in Ma.? The property issue involves her somehow forging a quit-claim deed on property we owned together. The lawyer who notarized it has been reprimanded by the board for wrongful treatment of a client in another case, ie; forgery my be his m.o

Re: help

Yes, you should consult with an attorney in Massachusetts. If you do not know one, post your question on this list but be sure to post it to attoreys licensed in that state. Or, you could contact the local bar association where the property is located for a referral. Good luck.
