Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

First of all I'm not sure I put it in the right category. Sorry

Anyway, my question is, I'm collecting child support and the father is not behind at all because it is garnished and he has a good job. He has never been in my daughters life and she has been on my medical plan her whole life. Now she needs braces & oral surgery, and I want him to pay the balance of what my insurance does not pick up. I sent him a certified letter stating such and asked him to get back to me by the end of the month. I haven't heard anything yet, but it doesn't surprise me. Do I have any recourse in taking him to court to get him to pay for this? Also my child support is set up in North Carolina, but we both live in Illinois now if that matters.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Heidee

You can bring the case here in Illinois and ask that he be required to contribute to the child's medical care. You may also want to seek and increase in support at this time depending on when your support was last increased.
