Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

I have a representation/retainer agreement with a lawyer regarding a breach of contract claim. However, I am not satisfied the correct documents production, nor correct questions are being asked of the defendant.

Can I file a request for production of documents and ask questions of the defendant myself even though I am represented by an attorney ? - Thank you.

Thank you for your question. The general answer is no, you cannot. You would have to request that your attorney withdraw beforehand, and then proceed "pro se". If you have any further questions, please feel free to email me: [email protected]

No. You should discuss your concerns with your attorney. If that doesn't satisfy you, you can always fire your attorney and hire another one, assuming there is another one willing to take the case.
