Legal Question in Immigration Law in Illinois

I filed my I-485 and sent the payment for the filing fee but somehow missed the biometrics fee. I tracked my case online and it says my case is suspended until I make the payment and that they have sent me a notice with instructions on how to make the payment. But for some reason i'm not receiving the notice in the mail. Can I just go ahead and send them a check for $85? or is there a specific way to do it?

If you mail the biometrics fee without the Request for Evidence, then you need to make sure you include a copy of the I-485 receipt notice & a cover letter, explaining what you are doing. I suggest calling the USCIS 800# to make sure they have your correct address, & see if they'll mail you another formal copy of the request for the biometrics fee first.
