Legal Question in Insurance Law in Illinois

Insurance/Lawyer Fraud

In 1997, I was a passenger in a car crash, resulting in a broken right hand.

The attorneys for my case got an offer for 45,000, and that they would pay the outstanding medical bills and whatnot and then give me the remainder. I got 8,000.

I assumed they had paid the 7,000 in hospital bills, but they had not.

Over six years later from out of nowhere I recieved an outstanding bill due for services rendered from the Physician and the two surgeries- they never even bothered to pay it.

Naturally, I was stupified to be getting this bill, especially six years later!

When I called the lawyers who represented me, they were very rude and offered no information, nor answers to why they didn't pay the bill. They played stupid and said they didn't even know I had a broken hand, yet I had two sugeries on it!

Long story short, there is more details I can't fit in the alloted letter length, please let me know what is my responsibility.

From what I understand, it was THIER job to pay these outstading bills, because the hospital was never paid, yet I never got the monies either!

I am more than willing to hire counsel so long as I know I have some legal ground to do so, Thanks.

Re: Insurance/Lawyer Fraud

You have a very good claim for attorney malpractice. Your problem is going to be the statute of limitations, which we will have to discuss. There is also the possibility of filing a complaint with the ARDC (Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Committee).

Please feel free to give us a call and we will discuss this with you further.
